Photo-shoot Friday (can this be a thing?)

Welcome to  Foto-Shoot Friday! I literally just decided I wanted to try to make this a regular thing.  Every Friday (or most fridays) I am going to try to share someone or something I've photographed that week. The pressure is on.  Today's post is about Shelby.

We went out to take portraits of each other.

Whats so cool about this friend is that we met 2 years and 18 days ago at a portfolio review day for Winthrop. Neither one of us had committed to the school. I actually tweeted about her because she is from Maryland and thought my accent was thick. The first week of classes I walked in to find her familiar face in the room.

I've spent countless hours venting to her about how stupid I think all the foundation classes are... countless hours asking her opinion on what ever project we are assigned next when I've hit a wall. She's my go to in class. I know that she will give me an honest answer about my work and I value her opinion on it.
(Not to mention if I need a good selfie.. cause those are important... she's there.) Shelby is her own person and I respect her for that. She doesn't conform to what is the "stereotypical" art kid. Sometimes we don't agree on stuff but she's the type of person that you can have those conversations with and she will listen even if what you are saying is a load of crap. We laugh a lot.. we laugh at each other a lot. She's got my back in critics even if its just a small look of 'you tried'.

She's seen my best work and the work I pull together with 0 cups of care at 3 in the morning.

So this is Shelby, my Baltimore friend who roles her eyes when I get excited about snow flurries, who makes me laugh almost every day I see her, and who I can be completely weird around because odds are she's already being weird.

Shelby, thanks for being so cool & kicking off what I hope will be a successful start to Foto-Shoot Friday's on the blog... Even though this first post will be posted on a Saturday.. nailed it.

I hope you enjoy the rest of these pictures from our mini-shoot.
