"Christians are being persecuted not for loving Jesus to much but for loving people to little."Anyone else feeling convicted? For about a week now this quote has been ticking in the back of my mind. Its a shame. A shame that we love a wonderful, grace giving, and LOVING God and all we as christians are known for is what we are against. We should be persecuted for loving jesus not our lack of love for people, is that not the 2nd greatest commandment we have been given?
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” - Matthew 22:37-40Last time I checked the bible said nothing about "Fixing peoples 'problems' by pointed out all their flaws and condemning them to hell", but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I have read countless stories and talked to many people who have disregarded the church and anything "those people" have to say because of our lack of love, understanding, and our condemnation.
I feel the need to defend my faith, but I feel an even greater need to apologies for the way people who I am trying to love and understand have been treated. There is a huge difference between hating sin and hating the sinner. So I am challenged not to go out and see "who needs saving or who I can save" but challenged to love like Christ loves me because if he can love me, a horrible sinner, he can love everyone else.
So I am going to challenge my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Let's put away our verses of condemnation, our opinions of right and wrong, and our judgmental eyes because we can't see the whole picture. Lets come together and show those who don't know this magnificent God we serve ,whom loves and changes us, that he is worth following. Even worth following broken and dirty.
Happy Monday my friends. Who can you love today?
