Next Chapter
I have successfully made it to WU! Move in day was a tad crazy to say the least. For starters it rained. Actually it rained for a full 48 hours here (The weather is super bipolar here as it is sunny and beautiful currently). With rain comes the frustration of moving everything to shelter so it doesn't get wet. My family was actually very successful with that and nothing got ruined except my phone. What are the odds that one rain drop could fall directly into my phone and fry it? Pictures and contacts? Gone. Ill tell you the odds don't matter because it happened to me. Yup. So on top of move in day I had to find the nearest Verizon to purchase a new phone.. and case. Again what are the odds?
The past 2 days have been full of rain and activities. After swimming across campus (rocking the wet dog look as bangs are not rain friendly) I stood in the rain (continuing to soak my already drenched clothes) for our Rock The Globe assembly, which was pretty cool. This morning I attended an on campus service where I was already recruited to sing and met a bunch of on campus ministers to each campus ministry they offer. God has big things in store.
I also actually took a big girl step for me and drove today.. like off campus. WOAH. Anyone who knows me knows that I hate driving. I am directionally challenged and heavy traffic scares me. However, with my best friend in the passenger seat and roomie in the back we piled into Melvin and took off to find Target. Buying groceries for the first time in your life with out your parents is probably the most exciting thing in the world. Command strips and hooks? Man those things have changed my life in 3 days. Like for real. I just stick them to the wall and hang what ever I want, like a cup on the wall by my bed for my phone seeing how I am lofted 5 feet in the air. Between climbing my loft and climbing 3 flights of stairs everyday my body will be in shape!
The most exciting part of this college experience so far is probably the fact that my best friend lives one hall away from me. I literally could probably send her a text from my room and make it to hers before she ever opened it. 5 seconds sure beats the 15-20 min drive to her house.
College life is fun.
